Finalization

Starting the Engine

We need to finish the installation procedure manually. Log-in (you can log-in as Informix if you want, but it is not required). Once you are logged, click the "Start" button, open the "Control Panel", select "Performance and Maintenance" (if you do not use the classic view) and select "Administrative tools". You can double click on "Services" to have the list of available services on your machine.

Scroll to "Informix IDS" and select it.

Double click on the service to get its properties.

If you wish to have your database engine started when the server boots, select "Automatic" in "Startup type".

When you are ready, click on the "Start" button.

IDS is starting.

Your database is now started and running.
