There is no Brazilian Pez dispenser at the site you just dialed
News from the Perrin's - Jean Georges
Tuesday, 22 April 2008

Gee! I am in San Francisco. First, I love the city, not my first time here, but it's a real city, where you can walk, find French food (there is even a place where you can get Meteor, it's a beer from Hochfelden)... But San Francisco is more than that. It's America. It's the American dream with its ups and downs...

Feeling kind of proud tonight...
News from the Perrin's - Jean Georges
Thursday, 04 October 2007

I feel kind of proud tonight. Yep. Some people are sad the day before their birthday, but it's not my case. I'll be 36 tomorrow and looking behind is not really in my temper.

The reason that makes me proud tonight is that, thanks to hard work and the RedLion solution, GreenIvory is an IBM Advanced Partner. It's not even on GreenIvory's web site (what is their webmaster doing? Noone düne Piipe Nochamol!).

RedLion is a great (would I say otherwise?) tool for searching information on the Internet and bringing it into nicely designed web pages or e-mail. RedLion is an excellent companion to your CMS package and it is not a replacement for any of them (otherwise, i would probably not use Joomla!).

Anyway, my 37th year good start a lot worser...

IDS and XML
News from the Perrin's - Jean Georges
Wednesday, 01 August 2007

Image It’s been a while I did not blog, although this is not a blog ;-).

Well, I just wanted to let you know that the new IDS (v11 or Cheetah) has some nice XML features and I wrote an article about them on DB2mag.com, with plenty of examples. XML is cool, IDS is cool, Java is cool. You’ll see why there.

Ok – back to work, I have a huge list of todos for InformixMag.com, GreenIvory, RedLion, IIUG, and many, many more!

Installing the Informix JDBC driver on Windows Vista
Tech Work - IBM Informix
Monday, 16 April 2007

Image Windows Vista is indeed quite cool. However, when it comes to installing software, you might come into some problems as Vista is relying on a new security mechanism which requires to be Administrator when you add anything to Program Files (well, this is the short version).

What a day… I am glad I don’t have days like that everyday. It started yesterday. A friend of mine wanted me to help him on a tender, finalizing his approach and his strategy on a migration from a legacy technology to Java.

Video: I got the Virus
News from the Perrin's - Jean Georges
Saturday, 16 December 2006

A couple of months ago, a friend of mine showed me the original Informix Cheetah video. I got back to him and he gave me right to put it on YouTube. Later I put my election video on YouTube and now I released a more ambitious project.
